Jay Carter surfer and originator of Tag Team Surfing format

Jay Carter was destined to be a waterman from day one.
His father, Johnny 'Jack' Carter has been the swimming instructor at the Palm Beach rock pool Sydney, for the last 60 years. Growing up on Bondi Beach and summer holidays at the Palm Beach Surf Club, Sydney, Jay has developed an inseparable affinity with the ocean.

In 1986 he developed a concept for a surfing event that would involve teams of surfers competing, rather than individuals surfing against each other. Tag Team Surfing was registered by Jay in that year and the rest is history.

In 1988 Jay Carter was included in the Surfing Australia Honour Roll for his Tag Team Surfing Format in the Surfing Culture Innovation/Project Application of Ideas category.

The tag team surfing website has been built to promote surfing and Carter Surfing products, notably as the exclusive Australian Distributor for Ransom Surf Wax and Ransom surf products.

He is currently living on the Tweed Coast with several Tag Team Surfing events scheduled for 2011.
